the cabin was an adventure in itself. outside mosquitos were horrible. however, inside it was excrutiatingly hot as we had to start wood burning stove to heat water for food. quite sauna-like. later that evening, at around 3 am, a crazy gnawing sound was heard outside cabin. exceptionally loud sound. went outside to examine, discovered one very fat porcupine eating side of cabin. porcupine examined us bemused, and waddled off in a sort of disgusted manner. porcupine returned numerous times that evening, making for a restless evening of sleep. wish we had .357 that evening.
