Those plans were crushed the next morning however when a snowstorm dropped about 7 inches of wet, sloppy snow on the ground. Note this photo was taken at about 7,500 feet above sea level – our plans for that day consisted of crossing a 12,000 foot pass. We decided that conditions would be very snowy on the high passes for an indefinite amount of time, and decided pack it in and make another attempt at a later date.
